Joe Biden’s Tuesday, November 24th speech has left the internet in stitches after he appeared to read ‘end of quote’ from a teleprompter.
The POTUS appeared in front of the nation to give his speech before departing for his Thanksgiving vacation.
He covered a variety of topics including supply chain issues, rising gas prices, inflation and the availability of holiday presents.

During his speech, Biden quoted Walmart’s CEO Doug McMillion who recently praised the President and his administration.
“And, by the way, you may have heard the CEO of Walmart yesterday on the steps we’ve taken. He said, and I quote, ‘The combination of private enterprise and government working together has been really successful,” Biden said.
He then went on to quote the executive even further, saying: “He went on to say, ‘All the way through the supply chain there’s a lot of innovation, because of the actions we’ve taken things have begun to change,’ end of quote,” the president added.
The ‘end of quote’ part from Biden’s speech baffled many and left people thinking he accidentally read it from the teleprompter.
However, Biden has used similar language in the past to indicate when he’s quoting someone else. He especially took up the habit after a plagiarised speech scandal had knocked him out of the 1988 presidential race.
So, it isn’t clear if the President was actually reading ‘end of quote’ from the teleprompter word by word, or just ending his quote.
It did not take long for Twitter users and other right-wing outlets as well as personalities to compare the POTUS to Will Ferrel’s character Ron Burgundy from Anchorman.
Ron Burgundy had famously uttered the near-career-ending phrase, ‘go f**k yourself, San Diego,’ when it was entered in the prompter.
Here’s what Twitter users had to say about Biden’s ‘end of quote’ line.
If it wouldn’t possibly lead to a visit from government agents, I briefly pondered creating a tomb marker meme that simply says:

“End of quote.”

We now have the ‘Friends’ presidency, where @JoeBiden mimics #JoeyTribbiani reading ‘long pause’ from his script. ‘Biden appears to read ‘end of quote’ from teleprompter during gas price inflation speech’. #Friends @POTUShttps://t.co/5MJV0xPgky
In his speech, Biden reassured Americans who are focused on inflation or worried about the state of the economy. He also made sure to show that he was in tune with their concerns about the rising gas prices.
‘Right now, I will do what needs to be done to reduce the price you pay at the pump,’ the president said. He touted a new action that seeks to release 50 million gallons from a strategic petroleum reserve.
Talking about the supply chain issue, he cited a 33 per cent drop in the time container ships were sitting on docks.
